Two Antique Radio Consoles (Philco & GE) – Great Restoration Candidates!
Offered for auction are two iconic American console radios. Both units have been tested for basic power and are in excellent structural condition for their age. These are perfect projects for a vintage electronics hobbyist or a unique home decor restoration.

Unit 1: 1942 Philco Model 42-380 "Slant-Front" Console
A highly collectible model from the final production year before Philco switched to WWII military manufacturing.

Condition: The unit powers on and the vacuum tubes light up beautifully. * Note for Restorers: It is currently silent (no audio), but there appears to be a disconnected wire internally. It likely just needs some basic lead-work and a standard recap to bring it back to life.

Cosmetics: The "waterfall" walnut cabinet and vertical grille bars are in good vintage shape.

Unit 2: Late 1930s General Electric Console (Chassis G5)
An architectural masterpiece with a massive dial and classic pre-war styling.

Condition: This unit is semi-functional! It powers on and actually produces music. * Note for Restorers: The audio is currently "scratchy" and distorted. Additionally, the internal speaker cone and the front grille cloth are both torn. * Potential: Since it is already receiving signal and outputting audio, this is a "low-hanging fruit" project—a speaker re-coning and a fresh set of capacitors would likely make this a daily player again.


Technical Note: Both radios are 80+ years old. They are sold AS-IS for parts or restoration. Do not leave them plugged in for long periods without replacing the original safety capacitors.

Pickup: These are large, heavy floor-standing units.
